FAQ’s
What is soccer6?
soccer6 version of soccer is 6v6 and fast paced / high scoring game that combines the best of outdoor soccer in a small sided format. There are 6 players on the field, including the goalkeeper.
We are all about the good vibes at soccer6! Competitive but not ridiculous. COED, Mens, and 35+ Mens divisions. Team and individual registration options.
How do I register a team and when is the deadline??
Returning teams will always get the first right of refusal to return for a new season.
If space is available, new teams can register for a season until that league fills up. If there are no available spots in a league, a waiting list will be created (first come, first serve).
Deadlines are based on any division's availability and may remain open until the season starts.
Register early to ensure your team gets a spot! All players must create an account on our website and read/click the risk of liability/e-waiver. Players may not participate in the league without registering through the website! Rosters are frozen before playoffs, and new players may not be added at this point.
Where will games be played?
Our adult soccer leagues are hosted at the prestine fields below.
Costa Mesa: Mariners Christian School
Irvine: Great Park
Huntington Beach: HB Sports Complex
Long Beach: TBA
How long is the season? How many games are there?
The season is 10-11 weeks long. There are anywhere between 9-11 games depending on how far
you go into the playoffs.
Are there different skill levels?
Yes, some of our leagues will offer various skill levels.
A - Most Competitive (college, high-level club)
B - Competitive (high school, club)
C - Beginners
Do you offer Men's, Coed & Women’s divisions?
Yes, yes, and yes!
How long are the games?
50 minutes (2 x 25 min halves).
How do I register if I am an individual but that doesn’t have a team?
You may register as an individual, and we will place you on a "free agent (FA)" team (usually a collection of individuals). If we are not able to accommodate you, you will receive a full refund or be offered an opportunity to transfer to a different league with availability.
Can I request to play with a friend or a group of friends?
Yes. The easiest way to ensure you play with your friends is to click “small group” after clicking the
“register” button for your desired league. You will be registered as an individual within a “small group”
and you can now ask your friends to register and select the name of your small group.
A less reliable option is to include the names of friends in the “notes” section when you register as a
free agent.
Please note, if you do not take these steps and email us requests after teams are assigned, we may
not be able to make adjustments.
Also, free agent teams are grouped based on the time and date they register.
If a roster fills in this manner before a member of your small group registers, that player is not guaranteed to be on your roster.
What does it cost?
Team Registration: $1200 Includes everything (registration and refs) & includes a team set of jerseys (1 set per year). Soccer6 jerseys are mandatory to participate in the league.
Individual Registration: $125 Includes a team jersey. This price may vary depending on the location.
Does soccer6 provide jerseys?
Yes, your registration comes with a jersey, which you will receive during Week 1 of the season.
Jerseys are expected to be used for 1 calendar year (for all leagues your team plays in). New or
additional jerseys can be purchased for $25. Footwear, socks, and athletic shorts/pants are not included with your registration. Shin guards are not provided but are required for all soccer6 leagues and tournaments.
Can we customize our own jerseys?
Yes. Although we do not allow external kits in our leagues, we can accommodate customizations. You are allowed to add your names or your own crest/badge to the soccer6 league jersey!
If you are interested in this and have questions, please email us at: info@soccer6league.com
Do I have to wear my soccer6 jersey?
Yes, just like your youth teams growing up or your college team and pro teams, we operate an
organized, professional experience despite being a local, recreational league.
One (1) goal is given to the opponent for any player that takes the field without their assigned
soccer6 jersey.
What kind of soccer shoes should I wear?
Depends on the location, but typically, soccer6 recommends turf shoes over cleats for all synthetic
fields (artificial ground, multi-ground, or turf cleats). Cleats with metal studs are not allowed in any
soccer6 leagues.
Do I have to wear shin guards?
Yes, always. This is for your safety.
What if I don't have a team, but still want to play?
No problem. Soccer6 has an individual registration option that guarantees (once you've registered
and paid) a place on a team in any of our divisions as long as there are available options to play (teams need players, and I connect you with a team, or a free agent team is created).
If there is not, a full refund will be granted.
I registered as a free agent. When will I know what team I am on?
We typically group individuals into teams once registration has been filled or 2-5 days before week 1
of a season. If you request to play with one or more players, we begin by making sure you are all
together. From there, we split up teams to be as equal as possible based on self-selected skill
levels.
If I can no longer play in a league I registered for, can I get a refund?
So long as you request a refund with enough advanced notice before a season starting, you will receive a full refund. However, once teams are organized and the schedule is up, we no longer provide refunds.
Can I trial a league before committing?
Unfortunately, not. Teams are confirmed in advance of a season starting. You will have an opportunity to adjust your location or skill division when you register for the next season.
My friend is in town. Can they play?
Yes, we allow for a substitute player during the regular season, as long as it is team manager approved and they sign a soccer6 waiver before the game.
Is it okay if I miss games?
Yes. For free agent teams, we roster them with the expectation that there will be players unable to
make every game.
What is your reschedule policy?
Rescheduling games is not guaranteed and is not as straightforward as simply moving the games to another day at the same time and place. We are constrained by permit availability, and this informs our policy.
*Leagues with game cancellations and/or reschedules are not eligible for partial or complete refunds or credits.
Rescheduling takes the following priority:
● Extend the season by adding a rescheduled week (if permit time allows).
● Add the game to an existing week with double-headers (if permits allow).
● No reschedule, and the game is canceled entirely. This is an extremely rare scenario.*
What happens if it rains?
With the synthetic turf fields we use, we will be able to play in most weather conditions. Only if it is
pouring down rain will we possibly cancel. In that case, we will correspond with you (via email) prior to the start of the games to give a status report.
What do we get if we win the league?
Teams that win the league will receive soccer6 championship t-shirts and a trophy. Golden Boot (top
scorer) and Golden Glove (championship goalkeeper) winners of each division will also earn a t-shirt.
When do we get our schedule for the season?
Schedules are created the day before the start of the first games.
Can I play on more than one team?
Yes, however, you may not play on two different teams in the same division.
